Quote of the Day
"What is important is to keep learning, to enjoy challenge, and to tolerate ambiguity. In the end there are no certain answers."– Matina Horner

Today's quote is brought to you by the letters L and K. Those of you that know me very well may or may not know what that stands for. We'll keep it that way for now!

I am off to the gym right now. See ya later!!

Healthy Reflection.

Here's another instalment from one of my frequently visited websites SparkPeople.com

Are You Taking Life Too Seriously?

When was the last time your doctor told you to stay home and watch "Seinfeld"? Or suggested a night out at the circus? Or told you to play fetch with a dog? It probably hasn't happened, but the day may not be far off. Laughter and fun are great ways to break down the walls of stress, preventing both mental and physical damage. Play time loosens up joints constricted by tension and poor posture. It brightens your attitude and is a healthy outlet for the most troubled thoughts. Even during our time off, it seems like we still spend a lot of time working--as a handyman, chauffer, mechanic, negotiator, therapist, cook, activist, or whatever is called for. Next time you're starting to feel the strain, think about how long it's been since you just played for the fun of it. It might be longer than you think. Then go buy yourself a toy.

So, if they say we spend our off time being a therapist, activist and negotiator then I'm screwed because I do that at work too! :/ I just take things in stride. I sometimes think people *coughmysupervisorcough* resent me because I treat every "crisis" with smooth confidence and I rarely, if ever, crumble under pressure. I can't help it! That's how I roll. Because, as I always say, life is too short to take it so seriously and you can't live a good life unless you laugh...at almost everything!! To celebrate that philosophy I took today off! I am going to enjoy a "Mental Health Day". Carpe Diem!

Quote of the Day
"We are not what we know but what we are willing to learn."
– Mary Catherine Bateson

I finally went to see the Personal Trainer yesterday! I really like this guy. He's easy to talk to and knows just how far to push me. I was a tad irritated with the fact that he made me work my legs so much. Guh. The top of my legs hurt so bad right now that I can barely walk. What's the point of torturing the shit out of me to the point that I can't move enough to work out this morning? Everything is stiff. Frig. I guess that's the point of a personal trainer? I agree except for the fact that I'm pissed that I can't move enough to walk over to the gym today. My main problem is consistency. If I don't make it over there today~ forget about it. I guess I'm angry? At him. Not myself because I have proved in the not so distant past that I can stick to an exercise program and lose weight without working out till the point that I can't move!! I am not whining...I am BITCHING!

Hilarious!

Not for the easily offended.

I sometimes cringe when I hear the name Sarah Silverman...but I have to admit this is pretty funny...

I can't help but have faith in what this man says. This video is 30 minutes long so you might not want to spend the time watching it. I won't be offended. I'm sticking it here as a bookamrk for myself but if anyone wants to watch it, be my guest. I'm Jackie and I approve this message...

So I'm up late anyway...

A few weeks ago I blogged about seeing Kid Rock at the Lafayette Coney Island over on Michigan Avenue. Well, thanks to my friend Lottie, now I know why! Damn it...my fifteen minutes of fame flashed right before my very eyes!! Watch the video because it's VERY cool (for a Detroiter) and showcases a hundred Detroit landmarks, including the street I live on and 20 other things that are minutes outside my front door! Pretty sweet! If you want to see the "Lafayette Coney Island" portion look out for about 3:40 minutes into the video. He was wearing that pink golf hat and white tank when I saw him. I actually stood right behind the employee while they were filming him making the coney dogs really fast!! Before you ask, no, I don't know any of the cops in the video. At least I don't think I do! :)
