Georgia on My Mind.
I'm going to Savannah in a few weeks. Yay! Hopefully I'll have something positive happening by then in terms of employment. If not, I'm going to be forced to expand my search. Starting in Georgia. I don't want to but what the hell is the alternative? I can't stand the thought of being unemployed another month. I'm finally verbalizing this because the first step is admitting you have a problem. Right? Perhaps someone will hear my plea? Which leads me to another thing that made me think "What the Hell???" Yesterday I was updating my CareerBuilder profile from 2006. I don't know how many of you are lucky enough to have been through this process but it's not something you can do very quickly. You go through the step-by-step process and fill in the blanks, check boxes, etc. At the bottom of each section there is an advertisement from a sponsor (Universities, etc) and you have the option to have them send you info. I was left scratching my head when I reached a section called Social Networking. It asked that if you had a blog or social networking profiles if you would like to provide the link because "research shows that 24% of employers hire prospective employees based on social networking profiles." Are you effing kidding me? I know this is available for all the interworld to see but I'm not expressly throwing my personal life in the face of an employer in hopes that it will land me a job! I am, however, going to continue to blog and be open about how horrible it is to be unemployed, overweight and broke along with how much I like to enjoy life. If somebody doesn't like it then too darn bad! I am who I am!

Weekend Recap.
I didn't exercise today. Instead I ate this:

My Birthday seems to drag out every year. This isn't done purposely. It just so happens that my Birthday is two days before a big summer holiday and everyone seems to be busy, especially when it falls on a weekend. I got this for my birthday:
This thrills me. It must come with age. This morning I caught Lucky on top of the microwave. What's his deal? He does this once in awhile. I guess he's trying to get my attention. As soon as I catch him in the act of doing something naughty he tries to run off like he's not doing anything wrong. Silly cat.
Yesterday I spent the day hanging out with Beverly. We ate "4th of July" food. Sausage and potato salad. Then we drank a bottle of wine and watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I've seen it before and I really like the movie enough to watch it again! Before we started eating and drinking wine we went for a ride looking for this:
Steve's Soul Food used to be on Grand River. I never went there but I've heard rave reviews about it! Friends and I have set out to eat there and couldn't make up or down of how to get there. Now they've moved over on Franklin Street between Chene Park and The Ren Cen. The outside looks beautiful. This will be the next place I try when I have that disposable income I used to enjoy! :)

Extra Ordinary
There's noting extraordinary about this blog. I don't have anything amazing to offer on a daily basis. I'm not really an expert on anything either. I'm your typical Jack of all Trades, Master of None. I know what I know if you know what I mean. For all I know, this is the biggest snoozefest this side of the US border! I wonder how many people stumble on to this site while searching for U2 lyrics? I do know one person found it while searching "stuck necklace". Heh. Perhaps I should be glad they didn't find it while searching "Pork Rinds". Haahaaaa. Oh, also, I wish I had more comical stories to tell! I'd like to have more traffic because I love interacting with people on the interweb. There are seveal blogs that I read almost daily. Most belong to people I know "In Real Life" like Lisa, Stacey and Gayle. Some belong to "Internet Friends" such as Lisa L., Nanette P. and Lettie B. Sometimes I "stalk" complete strangers like Matt L. and Heather S. Then there are the entertaining ones like It's Lovely, I'll Take It! or Awkward Family Photos. I would link all of these but that's tricky because some of them might enjoy their *privacy. My point is, I think it's amazing what technology has to offer us in 2009. Because of this technology I have access to (or a glimpse of) the intimate lives of people all over the world. To have or not to have a blog is not an easy choice. I know people that would never dream of having a blog (for various reasons). I'd like to take this time to thank all of you that have a blog that fuels my stalking urges. Finally, thanks to all of you that still read mine.
